Many teachers assume that because deductions for SVEA are taken from their paychecks, they are automatically CTA/S VEA members. Not so! There are two types of payroll deductions for SVEA.

• One is a deduction of dues for members who have signed membership forms and therefore qualify for all benefits of membership.

• The second is a service fee paid by agency fee payers with limited benefits.
